COOL CAT IN LOOSE
These are the sets I created on Polyvore out of boredom. Their site is awesome! It can help you unleash your talent in fashion styling. It's pretty easy! Also, I love being amateur on anything especially doing some styling. It's one of my favorite leisure times and it quite gives me confidence.
I like to mix colors, plains, prints, patterns and whatnot. Also I cut my old shirts into crop tops, my jeans into shorts and any other cool ideas to have new clothes. I don't care if whether I've worn the same top last week or I've worn the same shoes, boots or jeans yesterday (Of course I wash it the clothes) as long as I make new sets of outfit and I look effin good in it, I would infinitely catwalk my way in the great wall of china with poise and dignity. Haha!
"I've always wanted to become a professional stylist." I would say that when I was a kid. That's what I can remember. I mean who doesn't want to be one? I think it's one of the most delirious and challenging job in the fashion industry. I've been styling since high school and I can't go out without a piece of confidence in my pocket. Yeah I like to go with typical outfits like just a t-shirt, jeans and sneakers but when I was still in high school, that was when I don't get to buy my own clothes. Only my mother does it for me, she wouldn't allow me to buy my own stuff but I understand her and that she wasn't sure what size of jeans I have or my t-shirt size so instead she buys me anything that calls her out (though I love her taste in shoes) and I pretty don't like some of it so what I do is to re-style it or re-create to make it look like what it should be or shouts who I am. Unfortunately I don't wear it in School 'cause we have a "What Not To Wear" policy.
Let me share a short adventure. A cool cat maneuvers its own games. (lol whut?)
In my first year of college and it would probably be my last school year in the Phil. I had these cray cray things I did that made it hysterically fun. It involves breaking some rules. I hate rules. What? Can't help myself, I have a knack when it comes to this stuff. Sorry not sorry.
Our first semester hits on June, the warm air on the first day did help me calm down as I was nervous. We had one month to wear civilian clothes which made my laundry basket full. I met new people and made friends. I didn't expect much of it since I was only force to study. Though, it led me to many opportunities.
I got to showcase my talent in singing, in dancing, in visual arts and played my all time favorite sport, Tennis. I am not a pro. (srsly) I just like playing the sport. Good thing coach was there to teach me. It was fun learning and got to meet the team. I also went to Bacolod during semestral break to witness the spectacular UniGames and the mascara festival with the team. I just felt like going and because of it, I met him. My current boyfriend. <3 nbsp="">3>
Our department's uniform color is all black. I like black but they kind of abuse it on the uniform. I didn't like the designer's or the tailor's idea of making our uniform look like as if we're government employees. (Srsly) I think what made it worst was its fabric used. I'm not sure if the fabric was polyester but it was just too hot when worn for an unpredictable weather and not to mention the vexatious oxford long sleeves, the silky black slacks that was too loose on me and the little black fabric which use to tie around our waist.
I end up buying a fitted black slacks at the department store as I was too lazy to get it tightly fixed in place. For me, it was terrible except the fact that some students say they find me attractive wearing it (or they're just being nice) and I remember this particular girl who always calls me out "hot" whenever we see each other in the hallways. She seems cool for a biatch friend. Okay enough of that. I'm just not comfortable wearing the uniform though it was a devoir of an IT Student every school days so I couldn't do anything about it until the second semester started.
Two weeks before second semester starts, My scheme to get my design tailored and come of as my own uniform. ( like a boss!) I call it "Call me crazy I don't really care" uniform. I had that idea for a while and decided in changing my school uniform.
There is a saying goes "If you don't like it. Change it. If you can't change it. Change your attitude."
See what I did there? I didn't like it so I chose to change it. What was I thinking? I had to! It's sort of too much for a fashion-conscious like me. I was tired of bringing some extra clothes during school days and knowing I'd be on the top list of not following the "wear your complete uniform" policy. It was better than breaking the rule everyday by showing up to classes in civilian clothes. So might as well wear a different and my type of uniform than being a sartorial bad ass. Perhaps I am one already. And guess what! Nobody even bother to send me to the D.O. (Disciplinary Office) for using a different uniform. Like no one even have dared to confront me about it. I guess the disciplinary officers, the faculty and staff and the guards never noticed. See? So the more they allow me to do something, the more I take it to the next level.
My uniform was a short sleeve white blouse with a patch on the right side and I paired it with a high waist pencil sort of silky skirt, black stockings and a pair of black doll shoes. Before the year ended, I noticed that some students (girls) from other departments weren't wearing their proper uniform. Some were sent to the office of wearing the wrong bottom. Their names were on their bulletin board. They earned extra fines and school service for punishment. Good for them. (Note the sarcasm) They also had black slacks but they chose to wear it my style except they don't wear it with stockings. =( Still, they followed my trend! Guess I'm the trend setter after all? Oh whatever.
At least I was safe from getting myself into trouble.
If you think that I think of myself as cool. Think again! I'm no miss goody two shoes anyway.
I just do it naturally and it's my way of making the most of my year, extremely fun and ultimately memorable.
Despite of all that shit. I had realizations and I got to know myself better.
