BRIEF ONE ON ONE INTERVIEW WITH TONI KO, CREATOR OF NYX COSMETICS

Remember in my previous post about I've had a moment with Miss Toni Ko? Well, here is the brief interview I had with her. She is the founder and the former CEO of one of the elite cosmetic lines, Nyx Cosmetics. After the brief interview I turned off the recorder and we continued chatting. I've shared to her about my own ideas on promoting my own products if I start my own brand. Below, you'd see her reply to my instagram post! Urgh I totally went nuts since I'm such a big fan of her and she's one of my role models!

1. How do you describe yourself in one word? And Why?

Actually, Courageous!

I’m not afraid to make mistakes. I’m not afraid of failing. I am who I am because of the mistakes I have made in the past, that were served as lessons.

2. Tell me about your crowing achievement.

My crowning achievement will be... when I sold my company to L’Oreal. I have been so proud of it because L’orea is such an amazing company. I wanted to develop a brand that was worthy of a national beauty brands like L’oreal to look at.

3. How do you start your ordinary day and how does it end?

I work out in the morning, so I wake up and the first thing I do is I grab a banana, and then I go spinning.

4. How would you respond if you being the head org know a fraction of employees are unhappy over paying scale package at lower grade staff.

My goodness! That’s very important, because... you know the happiness of the people who work at nyx is the most important thing for nyx cosmetics and at our company, we don’t call any of our employees as “employees”, but we call them “team members”.

You cannot be an owner or a leader of a company if you don’t care about them. Our team members are everything. They’re everything. They are the most important.

It's brief because I just got so excited at the moment that I just started speaking and I almost never stopped! *chuckles* I wanted to ask more questions but there were more people waiting to have their time with her. And this is just to prove that I suck at journalism or writing interviews.
